There's lots of construction down in lower Manhattan's bustling Meatpacking District. Traffic cones pepper cobblestone streets. Older buildings are now ensconced in scaffolding. Detours abound--even on a tiny offshoot street like Little West 12th Street. Were it not for a detour, I wouldn't have stumbled into this shot--one of my favorites as of late. But so much of street photography relies on happy little accidents, of sometimes stepping off the beaten path.
